what is TCR
touring car racing
TCR simply stands for "Touring Car Racing" - a global series with multiple manufacturers involved.
Vehicles are all based on production 4 or 5 door variants with front wheel drive 2L turbocharged engines. With all vehicles subject to FIA BOP (balance of performance) weight, height and power requirements, this allows drivers to compete on level terms Worldwide.
The strict homologation of the vehicle specification allows racing to be cost effective and keeps racing as close as possible. However these race cars are also well suited to other forms of racing including the very popular endurance series.
